Chapter 50 - Hunter

OOC: This is a continuation of Part 1 Enjoy!

Hunter froze. He had just had a lovely evening and then...this. "What did that say?" He said looking at Arabella. "Ellie, what did that say?" He asked quietly, as he took small steps toward the machine. He sat down on the couch next to it and pressed the button so that it would play again. "This message is for Hunter Reed. My name is Elliot Benson and I'm a lawyer. I need you to call me back as soon as you can. It's about your parents. Thank you." Hunter stared at the machine, like he was expecting more. He played it again. "This message is for Hunter Reed." He leaned back and focused on that sentence.

"Hunter Reed." He said quietly. "Reed. My last name is Reed." He should have been happy. He should have been overjoyed and be jumping and dancing. At this point, he was just shocked. He was worried about his history. He was a real person.

"Hunter, you should probably call. You-" Arabella started. Hunter shook his head. He took a deep breath and smiled up at her.

"No, no, no." He said, waving her off. "I'll call them tomorrow. Tonight is about you." He said with a nod. "You go change, I'll whip something up in the kitchen and you relax and we'll watch a movie. Tonight is your night." He forced a small smile. She looked at him with concerned eyes. "Go ahead." She placed a hand on her shoulder. "Ellie, I'm fine." He said with a chuckle. She gave him a look and reluctantly walked back to her room. Hunter waited for her door to click closed before sighing and leaning back on the couch. "Hunter Reed. I'm Hunter Reed." He said quietly. He was worried more than anything about what else they managed to uncover. He played it again.

"This message is for Hunter Reed. My name is Elliot Benson and I'm a lawyer. I need you to call me back as soon as you can. It's about your parents. Thank you." Hunter had thought about his parents plenty since he left camp. He was worried about who the...Reeds were. What kind of people he came from. Would he be happy finally being a person? He stood up and walked into the kitchen.

"Wow...This kitchen is bare...Uh..." He skimmed through things and found some chow mein noodles and some chocolate chips. "Awesome." He melted down the chocolate quickly and tossed the chow mein noodles in. He formed some cookie-type things and set them out on some wax paper as he heard the door close.

"I smell chocolate." Arabella said as she walked in and stood behind him. She put her chin on his shoulder and looked down at the cookies. Hunter looked over and saw her face incredibly close to his. He turned and a bright shade of pink and went back to forming the cookies. "What are those?"

"I call them antlers. It's just dried chow mein noodles and chocolate." He said with a shrug causing her teeth to pop together with a quiet clack. Hunter chuckled quietly to himself and turned to look at her. He shrugged again and again, every time with a quiet clack until she moved her head and walked to the other side of him. She leaned up against the counter and looked at him.

"When are they going to be done?" She asked before dipping her finger into the chocolate and putting it in her mouth. Hunter looked at her with a "What in the world are you doing?' look on his face. "What? What did I do?"

"I'm almost done. Can you just wait until then?" He said with a roll of his eyes. She smiled at him and stuck her finger in again.

"Well, you're just upset that you can't have any because you're making the cookies." She said, looking at the chocolate on her finger. "I can help." She said holding it out toward his face. Hunter's eyes widened at her offer. She wants...to put her...finger...in his mouth...

"Hold that thought." He said as he formed the last cookie and set it on the tray. He glanced at her and she looked impatient. "All done. The rest is-" He felt a glob of chocolate press against his cheek. His jaw dropped and he looked at Arabella who was laughing at him. He shook his head. "I can't believe that you- Oh my gods!" He shouted with a look of surprise. "There's a wasp on you!" Arabella froze.

"Get it off! Get it off!" She said with a slight high-pitched squeal. Hunter took a cautious step forward and grinned before smearing the leftover chocolate on his hands all over her mouth and cheeks. She gasped and smiled. Hunter shrugged and grinned at her. "I cannot BELIEVE you did that!" She said before scraping some chocolate off her cheek and eating it. "I guess this isn't so bad." Hunter laughed at her.

"I've got more if you want it." He said, gesturing toward the bowl. She ate another fingerful and shook her head.

"No, no, no. I need to watch my figure. Come here." She said holding out her arms out for a hug. Hunter jumped and tried to dodge out of her way, but she managed to wrap her arms around him and wipe her face all over his shirt. Hunter sighed.

"I liked this shirt..." He said with a sigh. She took a step back and looked up at him. He gave a fake sad sigh, right before she rose up and licked the chocolate off his face. Hunter's eyes widened. It felt odd, but great at the same time. Hunter wondered if she could feel Hunter blushing. "Uhh...So about these cookies." He said, changing the topic. He picked up the tray and placed them in the fridge. "Once, those set, we'll be good." He said with a nod. "So, what movie did you decide- and you're eating the chocolate right out of the bowl." She ate another fingerful and flashed Hunter a defiant smile.

"Breakfast at Tiffany's." She said clearing her throat. Hunter nodded.

"Welp, I'm gonna change shirts. You go ahead and start it. I'll meet you in there." He said. He watched as she grabbed the bowl of chocolate and headed into the living room. Hunter chuckled quietly to himself and shook his head as he left the kitchen. His face tingled lightly from her touch as odd and surprising as it was. He walked back to his room and slipped on a fresh shirt before walking into the living room and sitting down on the couch. He looked over at Arabella who was eating another fingerful of chocolate from the bowl. She smiled softly and snuggled up to him. Hunter smiled with slightly pink cheeks and turned to ward the movie. They watched for about an 20 minutes before Hunter looked over again. There she was, licking the bowl clean. Tired, covered in chocolate and she still looked stunning. She leaned back into him with the bowl on her lap. Hunter looked at her and held back a chuckle. She raised an eyebrow and looked at him.

"What? I don't have chocolate all over my face, do I?" She asked, looking slightly embarrassed. She had a smudge on the tip of her nose. Hunter chuckled quietly.

"No, no, no. There's just...It's right on the..." He said, looking into her bright blue eyes. "I got it." He said quietly before bending down and lightly kissing the tip of her nose. The taste of chocolate made him give a small smile. She looked up at him with wide eyes. Hunter blushed hard, feeling like he made a mistake. "Sorry..." He said quietly. He looked away and blushed even harder.

"Hey, you missed a spot." He turned back to see Arabella with chocolate on her forehead. Hunter smiled gently and kissed it off. She spread a little on her cheek and Hunter responded by planting a kiss on her cheek. She finally spread some on her lips. Hunter stared for a second before bending down and placing a kiss right on her lips. It felt so...natural. The way their lips fit together. He smiled gently against her lips before pulling back. Was this the time? He would confess his love to her and she would spring up and they would- No. He couldn't do that. He took a shallow breath out of nerves and kissed the side of her mouth once before returning to her lips. He planted one more kiss before putting an arm around her turning back to the movie, eyes wide, cheeks red, and stomach full of butterflies.
