Chapter 64 - Hunter

Hunter was sitting in a forest up in a tree. He hanging upside down from a low branch by his legs. He was swinging lightly and was laughing to himself. He finally swung down and landed on the ground on numb legs. He started walking through the trees with no destination in mind. He finally found the air getting thicker and thicker. Suddenly he felt cloth. He bumped into a large sheet of fabric. He felt it. It felt like a sweatshirt. "What a dumb dream..." He said to himself as he woke up.

His eyes blinked open and he immediately regretted the decision. Everything seemed extreme. Light was too bright. Noise was too loud. He shielded his eyes and let out a loud groan. He felt extra warmth and looked down to see Arabella snuggled up to him. He was shirtless and she was wearing his sweatshirt. "We...I didn't...We didn't..." He whispered as he tried to remember the previous day.

"We didn't." Arabella muttered as she rolled to her other side and looked up at him. Hunter cringed at the volume of her voice. Even though she didn't say it that loudly. "Sorry, am I too loud for you?" She said with a chuckle before pushing up and kissing his cheek. "Come on. I'll make you some tea." She said, slapping him on the stomach lightly. He groaned quietly as she stood up from her spot next to him. He rolled onto his stomach and buried his face in the couch.

"I don't want to go to school." He said with a chuckle. "Don't you have to go to work?" He said quietly. She walked back over to him and stood near him.

"I took the day off to take care of your cute little butt." She said with a chuckle. "Now, get up, Hunter. Don't you want tea? Delicious tea?" She said with a smile. Hunter groaned again and shook his head. She sighed and grabbed his wrist. She pulled and pulled, but Hunter wouldn't budge.

"Is that all you got?" He said with a chuckle. She sighed again and looked at him with her hands on her hips. She tapped her foot a few times before getting a devious grin.

"How about this?" She walked to him and straddled his torso. She rubbed his shoulders for a little bit before bending down and putting her face near his ear. "How about you and me go into my bedroom and...." Hunter blushed harder and harder as she continued. He finally got on one elbow.

"You kiss your mother with that mouth?" He said with a disbelieving smile. She thought for a second before sitting up.

"My mom invented that." She said with a chuckle. "Now, are you going to get up?" Hunter chuckled and buried his face in the couch again. Hunter felt her bed down again and was expecting a flurry of lewd comments, but instead felt warm breath against his ear. She kissed behind it and under it before kissing Hunter's ear. She nibbled on the lobe for a moment before sticking her tongue in his ear. Hunter shrieked in surprise and squirmed under her.

"I'll get up! I'll get up! Stop! That feels weird!" He shouted. Arabella stood up and Hunter sat up and frantically rubbed his ear. He shuddered and stood up. "Good grief, Ellie." He said with a chuckle. She smiled at him. She took his hand and led him into the kitchen.

"Now, sit down and explain yourself." She said as she started a pot of water. Hunter tried to remember.

"I...have no clue. I remember coming back from your office and getting a phone call from Kyle. We met at a bar. We had fake IDs. He was having trouble with Marina or something." Hunter said, rubbing his eyes. "I think we got it all sorted out. Then he bought me a shot and somehow he convinced me to have one...or...6." Hunter sighed. He really did feel weird about the other day. Mostly because of the drinking, but he hated not remembering it. "I'll...uh...call Kyle later. and making sure it's all A-Okay." He said, giving a thumbs up to no one in general. He looked up to see her standing near the counter. "How was your night?" He asked with a chuckle. She shrugged.

"I worked until late. I only beat you home by about 30 minutes." Arabella said, turning back to the tea. She finally finished and slid him a cup before sitting down next to him. Hunter blew on it a few times before taking a sip.

"Perfect." He said with a smile. "So, you know any good hangover remedies? I feel like I got hit by a bus. A small bus, but still. A bus." She chuckled and stood up.

"A friend said that a bowl of Froot Loops and a 'bigass' glass of orange juice was the best cure." She started to hunt around in the cupboards and Hunter blankly stared at her. She really was beautiful. And anyone who said anything otherwise was either blind or stupid. Hunter was always surprised to see her interested in him. He took another sip of tea before setting it down and standing up. He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her waist. He gently kissed her neck and moved down her shoulder.

"My sweatshirt looks good on you." He said, brushing his lips across the back of her neck to her jawline. "You know? I can actually think of another remedy." He said with a chuckle as he turned her head and kissed her.

"You're still drunk." She whispered against his lips. Hunter shook his head.

"No, just happy to be with the most beautiful girl on the planet." Hunter breathed into her ear. He had no idea where he was going with these actions, but they felt good. Not only that, but they felt natural. "You can put the Froot Loops away, probably. No promises." He said with a chuckle.
