Chapter 61 - Arabella

Work was still busy for Arabella. But she was lucky to have Daniel because he was helping her keep her work load somewhat light. She was still working when she got home but now she was able to put it all away after supper and her and Hunter could cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie together. He was busy a lot too. Arabella assumed that he was going to work on his car more, but she didn't mind. It was nice to know that he was with a friend and he had a life. However, because Hunter was busy, all they ever did together was cuddle up on the couch. Nothing more. It was driving Arabella wild.

Arabella and Daniel had gotten into a routine of having sushi for lunch together everyday. They would sit together and talk about love and romance. Arabella swallowed her spicy tuna roll and let out a dramatic sigh "I am getting so sick of phone calls, Danny. They're ruining my life" she said and took a sip of her water.

"And why is that, my dear?" Daniel asked before putting a piece of his California roll into his mouth. Arabella leaned on her desk and looked over at him.

"I always get a phone call when Hunter and I are together. It sucks" Arabella sighed then rolled her eyes at Daniel grinning at her. He had been bugging her to tell her the details about her and Hunter but she never said anything to him because it was fun to see him squirm.

"Please, Arabella! Tell me something! I want details!" Daniel pouted and Arabella looked up at him.

"We haven't done anything, Danny. Not a single damn thing. Everytime I get my hands up his shirt the damn phone rings. The universe does not want me to get laid. Maybe I've messed up my karma or something like that" Arabella said and put her chopsticks down on the table. Daniel was looking at her with a dissapointed look on his face. Arabella nodded at him and looked out her window.

"When was the last time that you...you know" Daniel asked her, leaning back in his chair. Arabella screwed up her face, trying to remember.

"Last time was Chad..but I don't really count that. Last time I liked it? 8 months ago?" Arabella guessed and shrugged. Daniel looked at her like he had just heard the most horrifying thing in the world. Arabella sighed and looked away from him to the window again. The last man that she had slept with was just a random guy. She met him at a red carpet event and went home with him. He left the next day. It was fun but nothing special.

"Why don't you plan a night for you and Hunter and suprise him? It'll be fun! Maybe your phone won't go off tonight" Daniel said with a shrug. Arabella nodded and sighed.

"Danny? Do you think that you could deal with all of the paperwork tonight? I need to go shopping to get my mind off of all of this.." Arabella said. Shopping always made her feel better. Daniel nodded and Arabella grinned.

That afternoon, Arabella was walking through Victoria's Secret with a bag from Topshop in her hand. She had already bought a dress for Marina's wedding and was now looking for something to bring home as a suprise for Hunter. As Arabella ran her fingers through the rack of thin fabrics, she thought of Hunter yet again. He made her so happy, but she was worried that work was really putting a strain on their relationship. She had to work so much and she hated feeling like Hunter was waiting around for her. She never had enough time to actually be with him. Even when they were just watching movies together..it was never something that lasted for very long. One movie and she's have to go to bed because she had to wake up early for work. All Arabella wanted was to actually spend a full day with Hunter. They could go to the beach or something. Relax. Live.

Arabella finally got home and when she walked up to the apartment, she flopped down on the couch, not bothering to take her shoes off. She closed her eyes and just as she did that, Hunter walked into the apartment. Arabella opened her eyes and smiled softly at Hunter "Hey, Stud Muffin" she said to him with giggles in her voice. It had been so long since she called him that, it made her laugh to say it again.

"Hey, Honey Bunch" Hunter chuckled and he kicked off his shoes, walking towards the kitchen. Arabella rolled off of the couch and followed him, her heels clicking on the floor.

"I was thinking that we could get take out tonight" Arabella said, looking for the menu for the Chinese place.

"Are you sure? I can make something for us to eat.." Hunter said and Arabella looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"I got the night off. We are not spending most of the night waiting while you cook supper" Arabella told him with a little nod. She quickly ordered supper then put the phone and the menu down. "I'm going to go change into something less...work related" she informed him and looked down at the dress that she was wearing. Arabella turned and walked towards her bedroom, stepping out of her heels along the way. She got to her room and quickly changed into a pair of shorts and a tank top. She went to the bathroom and started to clean all of the make up off of her face. Arabella scrubbed her face until it was smooth and totally clean. She ran her fingers through her hair, pulling out the hair tie and the bobby pins. It felt in loose waves down her back and over her shoulders. With a small smile, she walked out of the bathroom and towards the kitchen. Hunter had already put the food on plates and put it on the table. He was just about to sit down and wait for her when he saw her. He smiled at her and Arabella couldn't help but smile back. She loved his smile.

They ate in silence together and Arabella cleaned up the dishes. She yawned then listened to the sounds of Hunter cleaning up in the living room. She really, really hoped that she was going to have to answer her phone tonight. Arabella dried off her hands and walked out to see Hunter sitting down on the couch. Arabella smiled at him and sat next to him, curling up by his side. She felt his arm wrap around her and she smiled. One of Arabella's favorite things about their relationship was that she didn't need to say anything. They didn't need to fill every silence. They could sit in each other's arms and and not say a word but it was never uncomfortable or strange. Arabella looked up at him and she leaned in, placing a kiss on his jaw. Maybe tonight would be the night. Maybe they would finally be alone for the whole night. No interupptions.

Arabella let her kisses trail down his neck, pushing her body closer to his. She felt his arm tighten around her and she smiled against his skin. Arabella pulled away for a second to smile at him then she pressed her lips against his in a gentle kiss and placed her hands on his chest. Everything was so perfect. Kissing Hunter was the best thing in the world. It felt so innocent and sweet and it made Arabella's heart glow. Kissing him was easy, simple. Arabella smiled against his lips and leaned into him more, kissing him with more passion, more oomph. She felt him lean into her more, placing a hand on her hip gently. Arabella moved so that she was sitting on his lap and she moved her kisses away from his mouth, along his jaw and towards his ear.

But then there was a chirp and her phone was ringing. Arabella let out an annoyed sigh "I'm really sorry...let me just ignore that" she muttered and grabbed her phone. She meant to hit the ignore button but then a text came in from Daniel. If you don't answer this phone this second, I will kill you. ANSWER YOUR PHONE, MISSY!

"What is it?" Hunter asked, glancing at Arabella who had a worried look on her face.

"I'm sorry Hunter, but I need to get this call...I think it's an emergency" Arabella said and she pressed her lips to his cheek once more before getting off of him and walking back to her room, sliding her phone to answer the call. She went to her room ad sat down on her bed "What is it, Daniel?" she sighed

"It's about Fashion Week. You need to be in Milan, Paris and :London" Daniel said and Arabella could hear the ruffling of pages "Milan finally got back to us and said that they would love to have your designs but that means..."

"That means that we have to make a whole new show" Arabella whispered, horrified. She took out her laptop and started working, shaking slightly from nerves. She worked for a long time, she didn't even know how long she was at the laptop. She put her head down on the bed beside it eventually and drifted off into an uneasy sleep.
