Chapter 81 - Hunter

Hunter looked at her as she walked toward him. "Now, where were we?" She asked with a devious smirk. Hunter gulped and started scooting away from her along the couch. She straddled him again and buried her face in his neck, planting kisses and lightly nibbling. Last night was great and Hunter loved it. He loved her. But it made him realize that even though he loved her, this whole thing seemed really fast. He had only been with her again for a few weeks. They were fighting or apart for most of them. Even though it seemed like a long time, last night made Hunter think about how much of a long time it wasn't.

"Ellie..." Hunter said quietly. Arabella giggled against his skin before returning her lips to his. Hunter halfheartedly ran his hands along her thighs and kissed her in response. She raked her fingers down his chest until she hit the waist of his jeans. He quickly grabbed her by the wrists and pulled her closer so her body was up against his. He lightly kissed her neck and put his hands on her legs. Hunter felt her hands move from the back of his neck up to his cheeks. She pulled his face away from her neck and kissed him tightly on the lips. Hunter gently put his hands on her back. He finally started to kiss her back when he felt her tongue shoot into his mouth. He gasped and lightly pushed her off onto the couch next to him. He stood up and turned around to look at her. "I need to...go...place and do..uh...thing." He said with red cheeks, scratching the back of his head. He waved at her before turning toward his room.

"Wait." She said standing up and grabbing his wrist. "Hunter, what's wrong?" She asked, standing close to him. She was so beautiful.

"Ellie, I'm just...not in the mood, right now. I'm sorry." He said quietly. She sighed before leaning up and kissing his cheek. Hunter blushed.

"It's okay." She said with another sigh. "Maybe later." She patted his chest and took a deep breath. "I'm going to take a shower then I'll pack and then we can leave." She said before turning toward the shower. "You've got me all hot and bothered, Stud!" She shouted back as she shut the door to the bathroom. Hunter blushed and smiled slightly as he walked around the couch and toward his bedroom. Just then he heard a knock on the door. He sighed and turned around.

"I swear. Daniel, if it's you, I'm going to-" Hunter's eyes widened as the door opened in front of him.

"Arabella! Where are you?!" In front of Hunter stood an angry looking Chad. Chad's eyes finally landed on Hunter. "You!" He said, stepping into the apartment and grabbing him by the shirt collar. He slammed him up against the wall and looked him in the face. "Where is she?"

"She's not here. She's gone. I don't know where she is, either." Hunter said, not looking for a fight. He really hoped that Chad didn't hear the shower and that Arabella couldn't hear Chad over the shower. Chad narrowed his eyes at Hunter before punching him hard in the stomach.

"Don't lie to me, Hunter." He said angrily before renewing his grip on Hunter's shirt. Hunter cleared his throat and caught his breath before letting out a little smile at Chad.

"Listen, Chad. Even if I knew where she was, I wouldn't tell you. Better luck next time. Your princess is another castle." Hunter said with a small shrug. Chad gritted his teeth and punched him in the stomach again.

"I could just make you tell me where she is. If that doesn't work, I'll kill her and wait for her to come looking. How does that sound, Hunter?" He asked quietly. Hunter's fists clenched in rage, reopening the cuts in his palms.

"You're not going to touch her." He said quietly, his jaw clenched in anger. Chad chuckled.

"Yeah? Why's-" Hunter headbutted him as hard as he could, causing Chad to release his grip on Hunter and stumble backward. Hunter clutched his head.

"Why do I always use my head?" He groaned before shaking his head back into reality. Chad stumbled backward into the wall and clutched his forehead. Hunter caught his breath and hit him hard in the stomach, causing Chad to hunch over. Hunter grabbed him by the back of the shirt and ran his shoulder into the doorway. He pulled him back and ran him head first into the wall across from the door to the apartment. Hunter let go and casually closed the door. He rolled the facedown Chad over and knelt on his chest. Hunter could feel a small trickle of blood flow down his face and wiped it off. He looked down at the groaning Chad. "Sorry if I bleed on you." Hunter said calmly.

"You...son of a b-"

"No, no, no, no." Hunter said shaking his head. "I've had about enough of your douchebaggery." Hunter said before reaching into Chad's pocket and pulling out the key to Arabella's apartment. "Now, do you want money? What? Why do you keep going after Arabella? She's a wonderful girl who deserves someone better than you. She probably deserves someone better than me too, but she'll be the judge of that, no?" Hunter said before pressing his knee harder into Chad's chest.

"I-"

"She's done believing your lies, Chad. You and her? Done. Zilch. Nonexistent." He said, pinning his arms to the ground. "You, Chad, have made my life increasingly difficult. You've made Arabella's life increasingly difficult. Now, there are...two reasons. Two reasons that I'm not killing you right now. Honestly, part of me hopes that you rot in prison forever. You're not really worth killing. Secondly, you saved my life that one faithful day in the hospital." Hunter reached down and slapped him in the face. "You're probably regretting that, aren't you?" Hunter said with a chuckle. Hunter stood up and helped him up. "Now, after this, I'm calling that little debt even. Blank slate." Hunter bent Chad's arm around his back and pushed him toward the stairs. "If you come back, I'm going to kill you. Believe me. This isn't a threat. It's a promise." He said before kicking the door open. "Stay away from her. She's done with you and I'm getting a little sick of slapping you around, okay?" Chad struggled and broke away from Hunter's grasp.

"I'm not done with you." He said raising his fist. Hunter shook his head and kicked him in the stomach.

"Well, you missed your chance. Goodbye, Chad." He said before shoving him down the stairs. Hunter closed the door and wiped the blood from his face. He wiped it on his jeans and made sure that it wasn't visible before stepping back inside the apartment.

"Was there someone at the door?" Arabella asked as she stepped into the living room. Hunter slipped the key into his pocket and smiled.

"Delivery. To the wrong apartment." He lied. "They had some numbers reversed or something. He figured it out, though." Hunter said with a nod. "So did you get packed?" He said, trying to change the subject quickly. She nodded and sat down as she ran a brush through her hair. "Good. Let me just grab whatever clothes I still have here and we can go. I'll be back soon." He said before slipping into his bedroom. He quickly slipped into a new pair of jeans and packed up the rest of his clothes before stepping out again. She stood there in the middle of the living room. She looked up at him when he walked in.

"Be careful. I just did my nails. They're not completely dry, yet." She said, examining them. Hunter smiled and walked over to her.

"You look beautiful." Hunter said before pecking her lightly on the lips. "Come on. I'm ready. Let's go." He said before grabbing his bag and her bag and stepping out of the apartment.
