Chapter 60 - Hunter

Hunter was euphoric. The past couple of weeks had been a flurry of bad timing, confusion, and bad feelings. Hunter felt like that was over. Hunter, with pink cheeks, walked over and hugged Arabella gently. "I'm sorry, Ellie. I really wanted this to be a surprise." He said with a chuckle. He could feel her face burying into his chest and he savored the feeling. She felt small in his arms. He felt that if he squeezed too tightly she would break. She was delicate, precious, and the most beautiful thing in the world.

"What are you apologizing for?" She said, her voice slightly muffled from the embrace. "I was stupid. I thought that-" Hunter interrupted her by bringing her face up to his and kissing her gently on the lips. He shook his head.

"Let's just agree that we're both stupid." He said, before kissing her on the tip of the nose. He smiled and took her hand. "Do you have to go back to work?" He asked, looking into her eyes. She bit her lip and shook her head. Hunter smiled and pulled the keys to the Bel Air out of his pocket. "You want to give me a lift back to the apartment, then?" He said, holding the keys up. She grinned and snatched the keys out of his hand.

"Wait, Marina is okay with you leaving your car at her house?" She asked quietly. Hunter looked at her and nervously bit the inside of his mouth. Did he want her to know that he owned the house? That he had a lot of money, now?

"Umm...It'll be fine here." He said with a nod. "I just need to say goodbye to Marina real quick and then we'll go." He said before holding up the keys. She nodded and kissed him briefly on the jaw. Hunter blushed all over again. She hurried over and got in. Hunter laughed and walked back into house. He saw Marina standing near the window, looking suspicious. Hunter laughed to himself. "You snoop." She grinned.

"I take it things went well, then?" She said calmly. Hunter nodded and smiled. "Well, I'll call you later. I want to hear about the rest of your night." She winked at him and hugged him again before saying goodbye and leaving. Hunter followed her out and walked out, locking the door behind him. He put his keys in his pocket and walked out to Arabella. She had the top down, her sunglasses on, and the radio blasting. He smiled and got into the passenger seat. She backed out and drove way too fast. Soon after she was parking outside of her apartment building. She turned off the car and looked at him.

"I love it." She said simply as she unbuckled her seat belt. Hunter unbuckled his and went to get out, but she locked the door. Hunter turned toward her and she pressed a button on the dash that put the top back up. She gave him a devious smile that made Hunter blush super hard. She crawled across the bench seat toward him and Hunter swallowed. "We have the rest of the night all to ourselves." She said with a grin as she kissed him on the lips. He could feel her hands on his chest and her warm breath against his lips. Hunter's eyes widened as he backed up against his door. As much as he wanted it, he wasn't exactly expecting it right then. She crawled on top of him and kissed him again, pressing her hands on his chest. He could feel her hand in his hair and Hunter finally kissed her back. He hummed quietly and wrapped his arms around her as he moved her lips down her cheek to her neck and then back up to her ear. He nibbled lightly just as he heard a loud chirp. Hunter pulled back.

"Answer it." He said quietly. She pushed forward again, but Hunter turned away. "Answer it. It's okay. Just answer it." There was a loud chirp again and he heard Arabella sigh. She apologized as she answered and got out of the car. Hunter sat there and sighed. He was disappointed, but life goes on. He got out of the car and made his way back to the apartment. He immediately started on dinner. They were having tacos. He finished dinner and called her. "Ellie!" He said. no answer. He left the kitchen and knocked on her door. No answer. He opened it and found her still  on the phone, working. He sighed and walked into her room. He grabbed her phone out of her hand. "She'll call you back."

"Hunter? You're sounding quite forceful." Daniel's voice lasciviously said from the other side of the phone. Hunter shuddered and hung up not before Daniel had managed to say, "Give me every saucy detail, Sis!" Hunter blushed hard and tossed her phone on the bed.

"Dinner." He said quietly. She stood up and looked at him.

"That was an important call, Hunter. You can't just-" She protested, but was stopped by Hunter wrapping an arm around her waist and kissing her hard on the lips. He initially pressed his lips tightly against hers, but after a moment he softened. He finally broke it. "Well, a girl has gotta eat though." She said clearing her throat. He grabbed her hand and lead her to the kitchen. They ate dinner and afterward watched a movie. They sat comfortably on the couch and eventually fell asleep.

When Hunter woke up, she had already left. The buzz from the previous day and the excitement from the upcoming date at Marina's wedding made Hunter fell nervous. He figured that he needed to occupy his time with something. He hadn't really looked around his house much. As long as he was home by the time Arabella got home he was good. He took a quick shower and put on some clean clothes. He left the apartment and took a cab to his house.
