Chapter 67 - Arabella and Hunter

Did he really just do that? Arabella looked up at Hunter feeling about a million things at once. She was angry at him for breaking her phone, it's not like it was a cheap phone. She was shocked that Hunter would even do something like that. She was stressed because a lot of her work was on that phone. She was relieved because that meant that no one was going to call her anymore. Arabella looked over at Kyle who looked away quickly. Stupid Demeter kid. Arabella let out a sigh, trying to wrap her brain around what just happened "Hunter..you..that..I...that was an expensive phone!" she managed to blurt out.

Hunter grabbed Arabella by the arm and dragged her away from the crowd. Once he found a quiet place, he looked at her. She seemed so conflicted at the moment. She was angry, relieved, sad, happy, and stressed all at the same time and still the most beautiful girl Hunter had ever seen. "I'll buy you another one." He said quietly before wrapping an arm around her and pulling her into a tender kiss.

Arabella let him drag her off, sputtering something about her work and how that was an important call. She wanted to protest, to tell him that she was angry at that she couldn't do this right now. But then his lips were on hers and his arm was around her, pulling her close to him. Arabella stood there for a moment but soon she melted into the kiss, pulling herself closer to him. Arabella put a hand on his chest and she kissed him, forgetting all about the phone call. She would get mad at Hunter for breaking her phone later.

Hunter finally broke the kiss and licked his lips. He put his forehead against hers and closed his eyes. He had never been more absolutely in love with someone. "Can we finish our dance, now?" He asked against her lips. She nodded and Hunter kissed her one more time before lacing his fingers through hers and walking to the dance floor. Sleep All Day by Jason Mraz was playing. Hunter held her close and gently swayed to the music. He got a look from Marina and Hunter nodded with a smile on his face. Marina proceeded to grab Kyle by the sleeve and kiss him on the cheek before leading him onto the dance floor. Hunter smiled as two of his best friends shared a dance as husband and wife.

Arabella rested her head on his shoulder and smiled softly. Being close to Hunter was the best thing in the world. It made her unbelievably happy. She smiled up at Hunter then turned her head to look at Marina and Kyle. Arabella couldn't help it, all of the love in the area was making her giddy. "Aww, that is so sweet" she said as Kyle gave his wife a little kiss. Arabella looked up at Hunter and leaned into him, putting her head back on his shoulder and turning her face so that she was facing his neck. She placed a soft kiss there and let him move her to the music.

Hunter chuckled at Kyle and Marina before kissing Arabella on the forehead. He smiled before dipping her and placing a kiss on her chin. She giggled as he brought her back up and spun her. He brought her in for another soft kiss as the song ended. "Let's get some food." He said against her lips. She nodded and brushed her nose against his for a moment. He smiled and took her by the hand before leading her over to the buffet table.

"Always the center of attention, aren't we, Hunter?" Hunter turned to see Will smiling at him. Hunter put down his food and pulled him into a hug.

"Will! It's been too long! How's it going?" Hunter said, patting his shoulder.

"I've been doing great. How about you?" He said with a grin. Hunter shrugged.

"I'm fantastic." He said with a smile. He turned to Arabella and brought her forward. "This is Arabella. Arabella? This is Will."

Arabella looked up at Will and smiled brightly at him. She had heard about him from Hunter and she recognized his face from around Camp but she had never really talked to him "Hi, Will" Arabella said and took a sip of her punch.

"Why do they always put little tins of mints on the tables at every single wedding? What do they expect to happen?" A girl's voice said, walking up to Will's side. Arabella didn't really know her. She was tall and she had blond hair that was in ringlets. The girls big eyes landed on Arabella and Hunter and her face broke into an wide smile "Hi, I'm Penny"

Arabella laughed a little at the comment about the mints "Arabella" she told her with a little nod

"Hunter." He said extending his hand. She shook it and Hunter glanced at Will. "Well, well, well. Will, look at you." He said patting him on the shoulder again.

"Look at me? Look at you. Last time I saw you, you were an eternal virgin." Will said with a chuckle. He gently placed a hand on the small of Penny's back. Hunter smiled at Will.

"Wait, this is the same girl that you were with when I walked in on you." Hunter said with a chuckle. H leaned over to Arabella. "They were making out." He whispered with a grin. Will turned a shade of red and tried not to look at Penny out of embarrassment.

Arabella started to laugh but she covered her mouth, trying to stifle her giggles. She now knew just how terrible it is to be interupted like that. She looked at Penny who was blushing so much, she was almost all red.

"Oh gods..." Penny whispered under her breath, avoiding Will's and Hunter's eyes. Arabella cleared her throat, trying to think of how she could change the subject for Penny's sake.

"What are you doing for the rest of the summer?" Arabella asked, taking a sip of her drink.

"I don't really know." Will said, his cheeks still a little pink. "I don't have anything planned. Hopefully, hang out with Penny." Will said before leaning into her a little.

"They're so sweet, aren't they, Ellie?" Hunter said with a grin. He watched as Will placed a small kiss on Penny's temple. Hunter laughed and wrapped an arm around Arabella's waist. "Do you want dance again?" He whispered into her ear. "Or did you want to leave?" Hunter gently ran his hand up and down her side as he spoke.

Arabella closed her eyes, goose bumps covering her entire body when he touched her. "Let's leave" she was able to whisper. Arabella hardly even waved to Will and Penny before grabbing Hunter' hand and pulling him towards her car. As soon as they were alone, Arabella leaned against the car and pulled Hunter in front of her. She put her hands on his neck and pulled him down to her, kissing him passionately.

Hunter put his hands on her hips and pushed into the kiss. He savored every feeling and every sensation of her body against his. He pulled away for a moment only to be pulled back into another passionate embrace. "Ellie..." He whispered. "We can't..." She pulled him closer. "We're out in the open." He said, gently trailing kisses down her neck.

Arabella got shivers as he kissed down her neck and smirked a little "That's what bench seats are for" she whispered and with that, she reached down to open the car door. She pulled away from Hunter's embrace for a moment to let herself move into the car. As she leaned back on the seat, Arabella grabbed Hunter's jacket and pulled him down to her. She smirked up and him and placed a kiss on his jaw.

Was this really going to happen? Hunter pushed down and kissed her neck again, lightly sucking and nibbling. He was so nervous he thought he might throw up. That would put a damper on the mood. He brushed his lips along her neck to her cheek and kissed gently before pressing his lips to hers again. It felt so weird doing this. Maybe it was because of the moment. Maybe it was because of the location. Something just felt wrong, though.

She was so giddy. Arabella felt like she had been waiting for this for too long. The fact that it was in a car at someone's wedding didn't really phase her. It wasn't that big of a deal to her. She had forgotten that until recently, Hunter had made an oath to be a virgin forever. Arabella untucked his shirt quickly and started working on the buttons of his shirt, unbuttoning them from the top down. She leaned into the kiss and she gently grazed her fingers against the skin on his chest.

Hunter shivered at the feeling of her fingers on his bare skin. Hunter kissed her shoulder and brushed his lips along her skin to her mouth. He left a solitary kiss before breaking and leaning back. He closed his eyes and sighed. He couldn't do it. As much as he liked the feeling and he wanted to do it, he couldn't do it. He couldn't go through with it. He sat up and put his hand on his face. "I'm sorry, Ellie." He said, shaking his head.

Arabella didn't move for a moment, breathing heavily. Did that really just happen? Arabella didn't really know how to respond to him or to what happened. Everything was going so well and she thought that he felt the same. She looked up at him with a confused look on her face and as her heart slowed to it's regular speed, she pushed herself into a sitting position and looked over at him "What's wrong? Did I do something wrong?" She asked him, trying to figure out what had happened and what made him stop.

"No." Hunter said shaking his head. "You didn't do anything. You were perfect. It's my fault." He said with a sigh. He ran a hand through his hair and studied his feet. "Ellie, I want this. I know I do, but just..." He sighed swallowed. "Just not like this. I'm so sorry, Ellie." He shook his head and couldn't bring himself to look at her. "I understand if you are upset. I'm really sorry. I just don't want to rush into this."

With a little sigh, Arabella scooted over so that she was sitting beside him. She linked her arm with his and rested her head on his shoulder. She felt kind of bad that she hadn't picked up on the fact that Hunter was uncomfortable sooner. Arabella intertwined her fingers with his "Don't be sorry, it's not your fault" she said to him softly "I keep forgetting that sex is something that new to you" she confessed and placed a kiss on his jaw.

Hunter still felt a little bad. He loved her and he was ready to take that next step, but he wanted it to be special. He wanted it to be passionate and he wanted her to enjoy it just as much as he did. "It just means that we're really going to enjoy it when it happens." He said with a chuckle before putting an arm around her and pulling her in. He ran a hand up and down her arm and pressed his lips to her hair. "Ellie, I..." He wanted to tell her. He needed to tell her. "Ellie, I...think we should go back to the apartment. The windows are fogged up. It looks bad." He couldn't tell her.

"Oh come on, it looks like that scene from Titanic" Arabella teased and smacked his arm playfully. She kissed him and smiled at him "You're pretty amazing, you know that?" she said before sliding over to the drivers seat and starting the car. It wasn't long before they were on the road again and Arabella had turned on the radio.
